From Substrate Check to Reassembly

We determine whether the joinery is timber, laminate, melamine, vinyl-wrap or another material and assess the existing coating condition.

Damage, delamination, grease contamination, movement and adhesion risks are checked before a coating system is proposed.

Doors, drawer fronts, fixed panels, end panels, kickboards, shelves and hardware are identified as included or excluded.

Cleaning, sanding, repairs, primer, enamel, colour, sheen and application method are recorded in the written quote.

Can vinyl-wrap cabinets be painted?
Loose, shrinking or failed vinyl-wrap usually needs to be removed or otherwise addressed before a coating system can be considered. The underlying substrate and adhesive residue must be assessed first.

The price depends on the number and size of doors and drawers, fixed panels, substrate, condition, repairs, hardware and selected finish. We inspect the joinery and provide a fixed written price for the agreed scope.
How long will the kitchen be affected?
Timing depends on the component count, preparation, application method, recoat and cure requirements and whether work occurs on site or off site. The proposed sequence and access restrictions are confirmed in the quote.
Can the kitchen remain usable?
Some appliances and areas may remain accessible, but doors, drawers or sections can be unavailable during preparation, coating and cure. We confirm the expected access and sequence before starting.
Which coating products do you use?
The primer and enamel system depends on the inspected substrate and existing coating. The exact products, colour, sheen and application method are recorded in the written quote.
Do you offer 2pac (two-pack) cabinet finishes?
The term “2pac” usually means a sprayed two-pack polyurethane finish — one of several coating systems used on cabinetry. We assess your joinery at inspection and record the system we propose in the written quote; if a factory-style sprayed two-pack refinish is genuinely the better fit for your doors, we say so rather than recommending a repaint.
What warranty applies to cabinet painting?
Cabinet and joinery finishes carry SQPD’s written 1-year workmanship warranty. Manufacturer product warranties, where applicable, are separate and depend on the specified coating system.
Do you also coat benchtops?
Decorative epoxy coating applications are assessed and quoted separately because benchtops have different substrates, preparation, product performance and care requirements.
