Seven Steps from Enquiry to Handover
A residential painting process that records what is included, how surfaces are prepared, which products are specified and how completion is checked.
Step by step
What Happens and What Gets Recorded
Timing is confirmed for the inspected project. The sequence stays consistent even when the scope and duration differ.
Enquiry and Initial Fit
Within 1 business day
Andres records the service, property, suburb, timing, photos and lead source, then confirms whether an inspection or more information is the right next step.
Site Inspection and Condition Record
Appointment confirmed when we call
Mateo identifies the included surfaces, substrate, existing coating condition, access, visible defects, protection requirements and any risk needing testing or specialist input.
Written Scope and Quote
You get your written, fixed-price quote within one business day of the inspection.
The quote states what is included and excluded, preparation, repair allowances, primer, topcoat, colour, sheen, coat count, access assumptions, price and applicable warranty.
Pre-Start Confirmation
Before work begins
Colours, sheens, products, access, furniture, pets, parking, work sequence and communication method are confirmed before the team starts.
Protection, Preparation and Coating
Project-specific
The team follows the written scope and specified coating sequence. Newly discovered conditions, substitutions or client changes are recorded before affected work proceeds.
Quality Check and Walkthrough
Before handover
Mateo reviews the included surfaces against the agreed scope, records completion items and closes them before or through the client walkthrough.
Handover and Aftercare Record
At completion
Andres closes the project record with products, colours, care information, workmanship warranty, approved final photos and any separate permission for a review or case study.
Stop and assess
Conditions That Create a Quality Hold Point
A hold point prevents coating work from hiding a defect, bypassing a safety requirement or using an unapproved product.
Moisture or Mould
Active moisture, an unresolved leak or mould beyond the quoted treatment must be assessed before coating hides the condition.
Known or Suspected Lead
Testing, containment, a changed preparation method or specialist referral may be required before sanding or removal is included.
Adhesion or Unknown Coating
Where compatibility is uncertain, the existing coating or proposed system may require additional investigation or an adhesion test.
Unsound Material
Rotten timber, failed substrate, rusted components or structural movement must be recorded and resolved or excluded before coating.
Access and Protection
The team does not proceed where access, fall protection or protection of the property is inconsistent with the agreed plan.
Weather or Product Change
Exterior work pauses when conditions conflict with product requirements. Product substitutions are recorded and approved before application.
