Terms of Service
Website summary under owner review. Your accepted quote and written project agreement are the authority for the work.
1. Agreement to Terms
These website terms provide a general summary. The accepted quote, approved variations, invoices and any project-specific agreement state the binding scope, price, payment, schedule and warranty terms for the work.
2. Services
Smart Quality Painting provides residential painting services including:
- Interior painting
- Exterior painting
- Cabinet painting and refinishing
- Surface preparation and repairs
- Colour and sheen planning where included
3. Quotes and Pricing
3.1 Quote Validity
The validity period is stated on the issued quote. The quote is based on the included scope, exclusions and assumptions recorded for the project.
3.2 Price Changes
Additional work not included in the original quote will be charged separately. We will obtain your approval before proceeding with any work outside the original scope.
3.3 Payment Terms
Deposit, progress-payment, final-payment, payment-method and overdue-account terms are stated in the accepted quote or invoice. Do not rely on a generic website summary where the project document is more specific.
4. Scheduling and Delays
4.1 Weather Delays
Exterior painting is weather-dependent. We reserve the right to reschedule work due to adverse weather conditions without penalty.
4.2 Access Requirements
You must provide reasonable access to work areas. Delays caused by lack of access may result in additional charges.
5. Client Responsibilities
Clients are responsible for:
- Removing or securing valuable items from work areas
- Providing access to electricity and water
- Ensuring pets are secured during work hours
- Obtaining necessary body corporate or council approvals
- Notifying us of any hazards or special requirements
6. Warranty
6.1 Workmanship Warranty
Included interior and exterior painting carries a 5-year workmanship warranty, and included cabinet painting carries a 1-year workmanship warranty, subject to the accepted scope and published warranty terms.
6.2 Warranty Exclusions
Material exclusions, the assessment process and the distinction between workmanship and product warranties are set out on the warranty page and in any project-specific warranty document.
7. Liability and Project Documents
Liability, risk allocation and any insurance document required for a project must be assessed from the accepted agreement and current documents supplied for that project. Ask Andres for the current document before work starts where it is relevant. Nothing in these website terms excludes rights or obligations that cannot lawfully be excluded.
8. Cancellation Policy
Cancellation, postponement and any related fee are governed by the accepted quote or project agreement. SQPD may pause affected work where conditions are unsafe, required access is unavailable, an active hold point exists or agreed payment terms are not met, subject to the project agreement and applicable law.
9. Dispute Resolution
Raise a concern with SQPD first so the project record, scope and evidence can be reviewed. Any further process is governed by the accepted agreement and applicable Queensland and Australian law.
10. Intellectual Property
All content on our website, including text, images, and logos, is property of Smart Quality Painting and protected by copyright law.
11. Modifications to Terms
Website terms may be updated. A later website change does not replace the project terms already accepted for existing work unless both parties agree in writing.
